“If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.” John 7:17
In John 7:17, Jesus teaches us that those who choose to follow God's will are guided by Him. They learn in the school of Christ, where obedience is taught and practiced. God's teachings aren't just for the mind; they touch the heart and shape our will.
The natural heart is hardheaded and is inclined to oppose to God's will and can lead us astray if we're not carefully asking the Holy Spirit to guide it. When we humble ourselves before God, He transforms us. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we must empty ourselves of pride and let Christ's love fill us. Ellen White is very clear on this;
“It is the wayward heart that has dragged down the faculties of the soul. All who would learn the science of salvation must be submissive students in the school of Christ, that the soul temple may be the abiding place of the most High. If we would learn of Christ, the soul must be emptied of all its proud possessions, that Christ may imprint His image on the soul....” OHC 105
When we truly understand Christ's sacrifice for us, our hearts overflow with gratitude. We long to share His love and serve others. This desire comes from the Holy Spirit working within us.
Our service to God is marked by loyalty and love. We don't just go through the motions; our hearts are genuinely touched. We can't contain our gratitude for God's goodness and compassion.
It's not enough to simply go along with the truth. We must let our hearts be moved by it. We must cooperate with the Holy Spirit and by His strength, strive to enter into God's presence wholeheartedly.
At the altar of God, we find true enlightenment. Let us open our hearts to His guidance and let His love shine through us.

- How can I humble myself before God today?
- Am I truly grateful for Christ's sacrifice?
- How can I show love and loyalty in my service to God and others?
Prayer: Lord, help me to surrender my will to Yours. Fill me with gratitude for Your love and sacrifice. Guide me to serve You and others with a genuine heart. Amen.

Indeed God is love. He never leaves us in darkness. The message is clear that even a child can grasp . Indeed our hearts are inclined to evil and we need to surrender ourselves to God.
