As the Holy Spirit Is Convicting Us, Let Us Cooperate by Confession, Humiliation, Repentance, and Earnest Prayer “Our heavenly Father is more willing to give His Holy Spirit to them that ask Him, than are earthly parents to give good gifts to their children. But it is our work, by confession, humiliation, repentance, and earnest prayer, to fulfill the conditions upon which God has promised to grant us His blessing.

In Matthew 25, Jesus tells a parable about ten young women waiting for a bridegroom. Five of them were ready with extra oil for their lamps, but the other five didn’t have any and weren't prepared. But what does this oil mean? The oil plays a crucial role in this parable because it is the reason why the foolish virgins couldn't join the wedding celebration. Sadly, many Christians today lack a clear understanding of the oil in Matthew 25.
