What Is the Purpose of the Plan of Redemption?

To Reclaim Us Not Just Forgive Us

“forgiveness has a broader meaning than many suppose….God's forgiveness is not merely a judicial act by which He sets us free from condemnation. It is not only forgiveness for sin, but reclaiming from sin. It is the outflow of redeeming love that transforms the heart. David had the true conception of forgiveness when he prayed, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10. And again he says, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12.

NOTE: Jesus will reclaim us by taking away our worldliness, hatred, anger, impatient, bitterness, resentment and all our bad attitudes.

To Restore in Man the Image of His Maker

By infinite love and mercy the plan of salvation had been devised, and a life of probation was granted. To restore in man the image of his Maker, to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created.” Ed 15

"He would give all heaven to this work of salvation, of restoring the moral image of God in man.” SD 229

"By sin the image of God in man has been marred and well-nigh obliterated; it is the work of the gospel to restore that which has been lost.” 5T 743

"To be redeemed means to cease from sin" RH September 25, 1900

"Christ died to make it possible for you to cease to sin, and sin is the transgression of the law." RH August 28, 1894

To Bring Him Back to The Perfection in Which He Was First Created

It was to restore this that the plan of salvation was devised, and a life of probation was granted to man. To bring him back to the perfection in which he was first created is the great object of life--the object that underlies every other.” PP 595

The Lord can do nothing toward the recovery of man until, convinced of his own weakness, and stripped of all self-sufficiency, he yields himself to the control of God. Then he can receive the gift that God is waiting to bestow. From the soul that feels his need, nothing is withheld. He has unrestricted access to Him in whom all fullness dwells.” DA 300

The plan of redemption is NOT JUST saving us from eternal condemnation, it also pointed that God wants us to bring us back to our original identity, the identity of Christ in which we are created. He wants to reclaim us from the seperation caused by sin and bring us back to the Father. Thank you Jesus.
